In the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, Pakistani player Sahibzada Farhan demonstrated outstanding performance, surpassing the record of Indian player Abhishek Sharma and joining the club of elite players that includes Virat Kohli.
The series concluded on Tuesday, October 13, with Pakistan winning 2-1. Farhan, playing as the full team captain in this series, scored 238 runs and scored a half-century in each of the three matches.
The first two matches of the series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium were won by Pakistan by a large margin. However, in the third match, played on October 13, the team suffered a humiliating defeat by eight wickets. Despite this, Farhan's brilliant performance was the main achievement of the entire series.
Farhan scored 89 runs off 53 balls in the first match of the series, then added 73 runs in the second and 76 runs in the third, bringing his total to 238 runs. With this, he set the record for the highest number of runs scored by a full team player in a three-match T20I series.
Previously, this record belonged to Abhishek Sharma from India, who scored 229 runs in three matches against Afghanistan in Delhi last month. In the current list, Colin Munro from New Zealand is third in scoring with 223 runs, David Warner from Australia is fourth with 217 runs. Hajrullah Jaddai from Afghanistan and Shreyas Iyer from India are also listed, both scoring 204 runs in the three-match series.
When including all teams in the statistics, the record for the highest number of runs in a three-match T20I series belongs to Mohammed Ihsan from Spain, who scored 283 runs against Croatia in December 2025. The second most successful is Ranbir Singh from Austria with 260 runs, showing such form this year against Hungary.
Furthermore, by scoring a half-century in each of the three matches against Sri Lanka, Farhan achieved another significant milestone. He became the eighth player in the world to score 50 or more runs in each of the three matches of a bilateral T20I series. Notably, he is the first Pakistani player to achieve this.
This list also includes former Indian captain Virat Kohli. Kohli was the first player in the world to score more than 50 runs in each of the three matches of a three-match T20I series against Australia in January 2016, scoring only 199 runs in that series. After Kohli, this club includes Colin Munro, David Warner, Nicholas Pooran, Shreyas Iyer, Rich Hendriks, and Ibrahim Jadaran. Now Sahibzada Farhan has also taken his place in this special list.
