The Jetour S08 has been introduced to the market to fill the gap for a seven-seater family SUV from the brand. This model will be offered in a single configuration, with a cost of R$ 259,990, and features a plug-in hybrid mechanical system.
This competitive positioning aligns it with vehicles such as the Caoa Chery Tiggo 8 PHEV and the Jeep Commander Limited MHEV, considering only available seven-seater SUVs. Among competing plug-in hybrids, the GWM Haval H6, BYD Song Plus, and Omoda 7 stand out.
Dimensions and Powertrain
The Jetour S08 has considerable dimensions, presenting a length of 4.81 meters, a width of 1.93 meters, a height of 1.70 meters, and a wheelbase of 2.82 meters. Its ground clearance is 18 cm, and the total weight is 1,998 kg.
Under the hood is the 1.5 turbo direct injection engine, produced by Chery and already known in Brazil, which generates 135 hp. This engine is shared by other Jetour models, as well as those from Omoda and Jaecoo.
The plug-in hybrid system integrates this engine unit with an electric motor that delivers 204 hp and 31.6 kgfm, controlled by a single-speed DHT gearbox. Jetour reports the sum of these values, resulting in a combined power of 339 hp and 52 kgfm of torque.
It is worth noting that this same mechanical setup is used by the Jaecoo 7, although the latter reports a combined power of 279 hp and 37.2 kgfm of torque under European standards. The performance data confirms these less optimistic figures, registering an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.
Consumption, Range, and Equipment
In terms of energy efficiency, fuel consumption, measured by the Inmetro methodology, reaches 12.4 km/l in the city and 10.3 km/l on the highway. The purely electric range is 62 km, while Jetour announces a total combined range of 1,200 km, enabled by the 70-liter tank.
Reinforcing its position as a luxury brand, the S08 is equipped with a wide range of features. Exclusive highlights in this price range include adjustable electric seats in the second row and a compartment in the center console that can operate as a refrigerator or heater. The vehicle also has run-flat tires and ventilation outlets for all three rows of seats.
Furthermore, it incorporates standard items for its category, such as the ADAS package, front seats with cooling function, a 12-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone air conditioning, and 20-inch wheels.
Both the second and third rows of seats have electric folding capabilities. The driver can pre-program certain folding patterns, including the configuration of the front passenger seat, facilitating car preparation for loading without needing to activate each command separately.
Currently, the Jetour S08 is available for purchase at the brand's authorized dealerships. The warranty offered for the vehicle is 7 years or 150 thousand km, and the battery has an 8-year or 160 thousand km coverage.
