The US tech giant, Apple, has expanded its home product range by introducing three new devices: the smart display HomeView, the updated compact speaker HomePod mini, and the modernized streaming player Apple TV 4K. All these new products integrate the functions of Siri AI and Apple Intelligence into the Apple home ecosystem.
These releases mark an expansion of Apple's approach to the connected home concept, as the company aims to extend its services and gadgets beyond iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. The most significant addition is HomeView, which offers a dedicated screen for domestic use instead of relying on control via iPhone or iPad.
Overview of Apple HomeView
HomeView represents a new category of products for Apple—it is a smart home display that combines a touchscreen, audio system, and voice assistant. It is equipped with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and is designed to be placed on a desk or mounted on a wall.
The desktop version features an aluminum body and a stainless steel hinge that allows the display to tilt, as well as a dome-shaped acoustic base. It is available in silver, Starlight, pink, and space gray colors. A separate model for wall mounting is offered in space gray and silver.
HomeView operates using Apple Intelligence and the company's new Siri AI system. The device can recognize up to six people by their faces and display personalized home screens, apps, and widgets. Users can access their information in Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My apps, while shared photo albums and music are available to all household members.
Furthermore, the display serves as a control center for compatible smart home accessories. Through touch controls or voice commands, users can manage lighting, adjust thermostats, lock doors and close blinds, and view video streams from cameras. Although Apple does not provide such accessories itself, Bloomberg previously reported on Apple's agreements with LG to bring them to market.
The Home Camera interface allows up to nine video streams to be displayed simultaneously. With an iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, HomeView also supports encrypted video analysis and notifications regarding people, pets, packages, and vehicles.
For entertainment, the device supports Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV, and other compatible third-party audio and video applications. The acoustic system includes two full-range speakers in the display, a downward-firing subwoofer, and two passive radiators in the base. Apple claims that computational audio adjusts volume and bass characteristics according to listening conditions. The device also supports Handoff, allowing audio playback to be transferred from an iPhone.
At the center of the user experience is Siri AI, which Apple positions as a more conversational assistant capable of answering questions and understanding screen content. When working with a compatible iPhone or iPad supporting Apple Intelligence, it can use personal context to provide answers based on data from supported apps. Apple notes that some of these features are in beta testing and require compatible software and devices.

The new generation integrates an enhanced Siri AI experience into the home and features a glowing top surface (Sound Glow) that pulses and lights up in time with the music, reacting in real-time to bass and high frequencies. The device runs on Apple's S10 chip.
The HomePod mini can be used for listening to music, interacting with Siri, and controlling compatible smart home accessories. It also supports multi-room audio, allowing users to play music on several HomePod and HomePod mini speakers, as well as on compatible AirPlay speakers. The chip also includes a new dedicated AV1 decoder, enabling more efficient high-quality streaming with lower bandwidth consumption.
The new Siri remote retains its familiar design but is enhanced with Find My support and Precision Finding capability, along with the ability to play sound from the remote, simplifying its location. Key features include the A19 chip, three far-field microphones for Siri voice control, the updated Siri remote with Find My support, and support for four-channel surround sound with compatible HomePod speakers.
