In a state primary school institution in the Devariya district, Uttar Pradesh, a teacher committed indecent acts. On October 3, the day of the Govardhan Puja, female teachers were on leave. Consequently, an assistant teacher from another school, Manullah Siddiqui, was assigned to teach for one day.
While performing his duties, the accused teacher, under the influence of alcohol, engaged in tactile and indecent acts with two minor students aged 8 and 10. After returning home, the students told their mothers about what happened, after which the police station in Mahuadih filed a complaint and arrested the suspect, and the BSA suspended him from work.
Due to the celebration of Govardhan Puja, both female teachers were absent from school, which necessitated administratively assigning an assistant teacher from another educational institution, Manullah Siddiqui, for one day. It is alleged that while performing his official duties, the teacher committed unlawful and indecent acts with the students while intoxicated.
According to the victim's mother's statement, the Mahuadih police station registered a case for charges of molestation and, in accordance with the POCSO Act, arrested the teacher. Coordinator (CO) Rajesh Chaturvedi reported that a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant sections, and further legal procedures are ongoing. The Basic Education Authority (BSA) also immediately suspended the teacher based on the investigation report.
Furthermore, the school principal notified the BSA of this incident on October 6, after which the District Education Bureau (DEB) conducted an inquiry on October 8. However, the DEB received a remark for the delay in submitting the inquiry report.
