The government announced on Monday the establishment of a high-level commission within the week. This commission is intended to review complaints from sugarcane producers regarding discrepancies in sugar extraction rates, weighing, and payments.
The announcement was made at a meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Farmers from the states of Maharashtra and Karnataka participated in the meeting.
