Nana Patekar's Cause of Death Confirmed: Medical Suspicion of Heart Attack Proved True

The true cause of the death of Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has been revealed after his passing, which was previously suspected by a doctor. In an interview with Aaj Tak.in, Dr. Shekhar Salkar, head of the oncology department at Manipal Hospital in Goa, expressed concern that Nana suffered a serious heart attack, leading to cardiac arrest and his demise. This hypothesis was confirmed after receiving the autopsy results.

According to the forensic medical examination report from the Goa Medical College, the cause of Nana Patekar's death was a thrombus formation in one of the main arteries of the heart, specifically the left anterior descending artery. This artery supplies most of the heart with blood; the blockage of this artery prevented the heart muscle from receiving sufficient oxygen and blood, triggering a severe heart attack and death.

Dr. Shekhar also mentioned the symptoms Nana experienced: severe chest pain, difficulty breathing, and profuse sweating. He informed his friend about the chest pain, noting that all these signs are characteristic of a heart attack. With timely treatment, a heart attack can lead to cardiac arrest, when the heart suddenly stops functioning.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar told Aaj Tak.in that Nana Patekar sent a message to his friend around 2:30 AM reporting feeling unwell. Due to the late hour, his friend did not see the message immediately. When he arrived at Nana's home around 4 AM, the actor's condition was critical: he was sweating heavily and experiencing breathing difficulties.

Dr. Shekhar clarified that Nana was found deceased even before being transported to the hospital. Nevertheless, according to medical protocols, doctors performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for approximately 45 minutes, but the pulse did not recover. Following this, Nana was declared dead.
