Mirziyoyev announced new construction measures in Yangi Toshkent

The basic rate for infrastructure payment in Yangi Toshkent will be reduced tenfold. According to available information, over $2 billion has already been invested in Yangi Toshkent.

It was noted that the pace of attracting the private sector to construction does not meet existing potential. A total of 20 thousand hectares of land has been allocated for the new city. The implementation of projects worth $50 billion on an area of 6 thousand hectares is planned for the first stage.

With the presence of a new airport, the investment potential in this area could reach $200 billion. Currently, construction on areas exceeding one thousand hectares is primarily financed by state funds, while entrepreneurs have been allocated no more than 94 hectares of land.

The President noted that Yangi Toshkent should become more than just a residential construction area. It must transform into an independent economic center that attracts modern business, education, medicine, tourism, and services.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that Yangi Toshkent should become a new platform of opportunities for all entrepreneurs in the country. It was also announced that every project unit valued above $50 million will have a responsible coordinator.

Post Festival Opens in Tashkent Dedicated to International Postal Day

A festival dedicated to postal culture, paper letters, and postcards is taking place in Tashkent, timed to coincide with Postal Day. Jafarkhon Jahongirov, head of the marketing department at UzPost, noted that the event's goal is to unite people living in the present through letters and postcards, as they always reflect the feelings of the current moment.

One of the features of the festival is the 'Time Capsule'—a temporary mailbox where visitors can place letters for their loved ones or for themselves in the future around the world. This event is free of charge. Letters sent this way will be delivered to recipients ten years later. Organizers ask participants to provide as much information about the recipient as possible to ensure they can be found after this period.

The festival also features various national souvenirs, as well as diverse envelopes and stamps. The festival program includes lectures, seminars, exhibitions, film screenings, and a themed market. Guests have the opportunity to view collections related to postal services, postcards, and paper culture.

International Postal Day is celebrated annually on October 9th. This date commemorates the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 and reminds us of the role of postal services in connecting people and nations.
