On the first working day of the week, Monday, the stock market began trading with a noticeable increase. The Sensex index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) jumped by more than 400 points from the opening, and the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also started moving with acceleration. However, this initial rise lasted only a few minutes, after which Sensex and Nifty suddenly began trading in negative territory.
During the confident start of trading, shares of companies such as Reliance from the Mukesh Ambani group and Trent from the Tata Group showed an impressive beginning.
At the opening of trading, the Sensex BSE showed strong growth, starting from 72,771 points compared to the previous close at 72,472. It rose by more than 412 points, reaching 73,884, but then this initial rise was sharply replaced by a decline. In just a few minutes, the Sensex fell by approximately 60 points, closing trading at 72,392.
The situation with the Nifty NSE index was similar. This index of 50 stocks opened at 22,593 compared to the previous close of 22,520 and initially rose to 22,651. However, following the example of Sensex, it also suddenly began to fall and dropped to 22,512.
Among the stocks that showed rapid growth during the confident market opening were BEL, M&M, Tata Steel, Trent, Reliance, and Eternal, which are part of the large-cap BSE category, recording a growth of 1-2 percent. Furthermore, looking at the mid-cap segment of BSE, shares of Suzlon, TI India, KEI, and MCX showed a growth of approximately 2-3 percent. The smallest companies segment saw the most significant growth: Syngene and TD Powers shares increased by 5-6 percent.
