The opening ceremony of the second International Expo in Shiraz took place on Sunday, October 11. The event was held in the presence of the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Crafts, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, the Governor of Fars, Hossein Ali Amiri, as well as representatives of the Fars people in Parliament.
The exhibition covers an area of over 20,000 square meters and includes the participation of more than 200 domestic companies, as well as 343 foreign guests. The Expo will continue until October 17.
The Governor of Fars stated the province's readiness to develop international economic cooperation. He reported the presence of 343 foreign guests from 13 countries at Shiraz Expo 2026 and emphasized that the provincial administration team is ready to provide investors with the necessary legal and executive frameworks for expanding joint investments.
According to the IRNA agency, Hossein Ali Amiri noted the extensive economic, industrial, tourism, and infrastructural potential of Fars at the opening ceremony of the second international Shiraz Expo 2026 in Shiraz. He welcomed everyone coming to Fars for investment purposes and promised them full support.
He added that Fars possesses significant opportunities in industry, mining, tourism, trade, as well as medical and pilgrimage tourism. These opportunities are being used to build a foundation for international cooperation and joint investments.
Referring to the first Shiraz Expo last year, Amiri noted that Expo 1404, which involved Gulf countries, was well received. More than $3.5 billion in memorandums of understanding and contracts were signed during this event.
Amiri concluded that, building on last year's experience, this year's exhibition has been expanded in terms of country participation to present the province's economic opportunities on a broader level.
