Tashkent, Uzbekistan, will host the Asian Table Tennis Championships for senior athletes for the first time in its history. The event will take place from October 19 to 25 at the Olympic Village.
255 athletes representing 33 countries will participate in the continental tournament. Medals will be awarded in four disciplines: singles, doubles, mixed doubles, and team competitions.
The team events also serve as a qualifying round for the World Championships, which will be held in Kazakhstan next year, where participants will compete for spots in the global tournament.
Uzbekistan will be represented by ten athletes at the home championships. Starting on October 12, Uzbek players will begin their final training camp, which they will hold jointly with the national teams of North Korea and Kyrgyzstan.
