New Geely Battleship 700 SUV Gains High Popularity and Features Waterproofing

Amid the growing global demand for electric vehicles, automakers are actively introducing new models. Among them, the Chinese company Geely has unveiled an SUV that is distinguished not only by its on-road capabilities but also by its ability to float in water.

The company officially launched its new Battleship 700 SUV on October 10th. In the Chinese market, it is presented under the name Galaxy Zhanjian 700. This vehicle belongs to the class of mid-sized plug-in hybrid SUVs and was developed specifically to overcome difficult routes and extreme off-road conditions.

The model's popularity is confirmed by the fact that over 10,000 orders were placed just 12 minutes after sales began. This SUV attracts buyers due to the combination of long driving range, luxurious interior, and advanced off-road technologies.

The Geely Battleship 700 was released in six different configurations in China. The initial estimated price is 179,800 yuan (equivalent to approximately 25.97 lakh rupees), while the most expensive option costs 369,800 yuan (53.42 lakh rupees).

The car is built on the GTA New Energy Off-Road architecture and utilizes plug-in hybrid technology, allowing it to cover long distances using either electric or another powertrain.

The SUV's design is executed in a boxy style, emphasizing its status as a powerful off-roader. The front end is equipped with the 'Sky Eye' lighting system, which includes 228 high-brightness LEDs and an illuminated logo. Muscular lines and flat air vents on the hood give the car a imposing appearance. Additionally, the front bumper features orange trim and a tow hook. A 192-line LiDAR sensor is mounted on the roof as part of the advanced sensor system.

The vehicle dimensions are 5,085 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,912 mm in height, with a wheelbase reaching 2,900 mm. The approach angle is 30 degrees, the departure angle is 31 degrees, and the ground clearance is 233 mm, indicating its readiness for use on both regular roads and rough terrain.

The interior is equipped with numerous premium features. It features the 'One World' cockpit, where five screens operate simultaneously: a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.2-inch augmented reality (HUD) display, a 15.4-inch central 2K touchscreen, a 12.66-inch passenger screen, and a control panel for rear passengers.

The infotainment system runs on the Longying 6P chip and uses Flyme Auto 2 software, integrated with Geely's proprietary satellite network to enhance digital capabilities and connectivity. Special attention is paid to comfort: the cabin is fitted with 'Marshmallow' SPA seats, which offer 14-point massage, ventilation, and heating. The rear seats can fold completely to form a sleeping area measuring 1.8 meters in length and 1.1 meters in width.

For long journeys, additional amenities are provided, such as an 18.5-liter two-door refrigerator, 50W wireless fast charging, and a built-in oxygen generator.

The Battleship 700 uses the new Thor EM-T hybrid technology from the company, which includes a large battery pack with a capacity of 47.14 kWh, manufactured by CATL. This battery is made from lithium iron phosphate (LFP) material. According to the company's statements, charging from 10% to 80% takes only 10 minutes.

According to CLTC standards, the vehicle can travel over 1,770 km on a single charge, and in real-world conditions, this figure is 1,434 km. Furthermore, under the WLTP standard, the electric range reaches 247 km. The company also notes that in pure electric driving mode according to CLTC standards, the vehicle covers 305 km.

A key feature is the off-road system, which includes the 'Magic Carpet' suspension, double-chamber springs, and CCD variable damping technology. This system automatically adjusts the vehicle's height depending on the conditions, helping to avoid getting stuck in difficult sections.

The manufacturer claims a waterproofing capability of 800 mm. Additionally, the SUV is equipped with a special emergency swimming mode: in this mode, the vehicle can move in water at speeds up to 7 km/h for a maximum of 40 minutes.

Safety is ensured by 16 active functions, including the AES collision avoidance system, which operates up to 130 km/h, correcting the steering direction to avoid potential accidents. The body is reinforced with the 'Star Armor' structure, which uses high-strength steel.
