Gujarat simplifies police recruitment for ex-Agniveers: exams canceled, 20% quotas provided, and age exemption granted

A decision has been made to simplify the process of joining the Gujarat police force for Agniveer personnel who have returned after completing their military service. This initiative was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sangvi.

According to the statement, former Agniveers will not have to undergo any examinations to join the police forces. Furthermore, they will be granted a 20 percent reservation, as well as a five-year extension to the maximum age limit.

Harsh Sangvi specified that previously, physical testing had already been waived for former Agniveers in Gujarat. Now, the government has decided to exempt them from all types of examinations during the recruitment process. Former Agniveers will receive the right to 20 percent reservation when joining the police, and their age limit will be increased by five years.

However, detailed information regarding the recruitment procedure, candidate requirements, and specifics of the exam-free selection will be disclosed in an official government proposal and subsequent press release.

Sangvi emphasized that Agniveers have contributed to national security by working around the clock on the country's borders. Their appointment to the police forces will help strengthen the state's security system. The goal of this state government decision is to provide opportunities for young people who have gained military service experience to work in police structures.

The exact terms of admission will become clear after the publication of detailed recruitment requirements, which will define what procedures and compliance standards former Agniveers must meet for selection.
