The Sixth Chinese Film and Television Series Exhibition in Brazil concluded its activities on Thursday. The closing event took place in Rio de Janeiro, where an online program was launched.
The event was jointly organized by China Media Group (CMG), the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, and RioMarket, as well as Box Brazil Media Group. Approximately 150 guests from government circles, the media industry, and the film and television sectors of both countries participated in the exhibition.
2026 has been declared the Year of Culture for China and Brazil. Since 2021, CMG has held this exhibition annually in Brazil, presenting nearly 100 Chinese film and television works to the Brazilian public. This initiative has become a significant platform allowing local viewers to learn about China and get acquainted with Chinese culture.
In a video address, the Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingxiao, stated that relations between China and Brazil have reached a historic milestone, transitioning from comprehensive strategic partnership to a community with a shared future. He added that the ties between the two nations have never been stronger.
Brazil's Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, Marcio Elias Rosa, emphasized that China and Brazil possess strategic synergies in many areas, with cinema and television being an important direction of cooperation.
During the ceremony, a video was shown summarizing the screenings and cultural events that took place across Brazil. Brazilian viewers noted that the Chinese productions helped them see the differences between the two countries, as well as understand common experiences and emotions.
