Resident in Greater Noida warned via surveillance cameras for littering in public area

In Beta-1 sector of Greater Noida, surveillance cameras are used to monitor individuals who dispose of trash in open areas. On the night of October 9, a person began throwing garbage near a wall when a public announcement sounded from the cameras. After receiving the warning, the person picked up the trash and took it home. The video recording of this incident went viral on social media.

To maintain cleanliness in Greater Noida, the RWA of Beta-1 sector has undertaken a special initiative by installing surveillance cameras in various parts of the sector. These cameras allow monitoring of those who throw trash in unauthorized places. It was during such monitoring that one person was captured on camera while littering. Subsequently, the system issued a public announcement demanding that they collect the trash.

According to Harender Bhatti, General Secretary of the RWA of Beta-1 sector, the incident occurred on October 9 around 10:15 PM. He reported that a resident of the sector brought trash from home and started throwing it near a wall. At that moment, he was caught on CCTV. The person monitoring the cameras used a public announcement to demand that the trash be removed immediately. Initially, the person did not understand where the sound was coming from. After a second warning, stating that a fine would be issued in the morning if the trash was not collected, he gathered the trash and left home.

Harender Bhatti emphasized that continuous efforts are being made to maintain cleanliness in the sector. Nevertheless, some people continue to throw trash in open areas or near walls. Cameras have been installed at various points to identify such individuals. Thanks to the monitoring, violators who litter are identified, and a fine procedure is carried out if necessary.

Following the release of the video, the public began discussing the need to raise awareness about cleanliness. Local residents believe that both increased awareness and adherence to rules are necessary to prevent the habit of littering in public places. The Beta-1 sector's initiative demonstrates that local control and timely warnings can motivate people to keep public areas clean. However, citizen responsibility and a proper waste disposal system are also crucial for long-term cleanliness.
