Entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan can receive a subsidy of up to 50% for opening restaurants abroad

Entrepreneurs registered in Uzbekistan have the opportunity to receive a state subsidy for opening national Uzbek cuisine restaurants outside the country. The state commits to reimbursing up to fifty percent of the costs associated with opening the establishment, even if it is already operating.

This service is provided free of charge through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services my.gov.uz and is overseen by the Committee on Tourism. Applications are submitted electronically. However, the maximum amount of a one-time compensation for registration, rent, equipment, and restaurant setup costs is limited to $25,000.

To apply for the subsidy, the entrepreneur must prepare a number of documents. These include confirmation of the restaurant's registration abroad and the right to use the premises, as well as proof that the establishment complies with sanitary standards and fire safety requirements. Documents documenting incurred expenses are also required, and if necessary, confirmations of product supplies from Uzbekistan with an official translation. Photographs of both the interior and exterior of the restaurant must be attached to the application.

The review of submitted applications takes up to 18 working days. If a positive decision is made, the funds are transferred to the applicant's bank account within seven working days. If any deficiencies are found in the submitted documents, the entrepreneur has the right to correct them and resubmit the application.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan previously announced plans whereby, starting in 2027, agricultural subsidies will be linked to yield indicators, as well as water and energy savings.
