Jio introduced smart glasses with camera and AI for UPI payments without using a phone

During the India Mobile Congress 2026, Jio unveiled a new product called AI Smart Glasses. These glasses allow users to make UPI payments directly in a store without needing to take out their smartphone from their pocket.

With the AI Glasses, users simply need to look at a QR code and give a voice command to complete the payment. The company demonstrated these new AI Glasses at the India Mobile Congress event. In addition to the camera glasses, Jio presented a range of other wearable devices, including audio glasses and headphones.

According to information provided by the company, these devices are equipped with features such as Scan and Pay, an AI-based voice assistant, support for multiple Indian languages, live translation, AI note-taking, and live commentary on sporting events.

The most outstanding feature of the Jio AI Glasses is Scan and Pay. Users can scan UPI QR codes using the camera glasses, and they only need to issue a voice command to initiate the transaction. Thanks to UPI Circle, the user can make payments up to ₹5000 per transaction, with a maximum limit of ₹15000. It is important to note that this limit is set according to UPI Circle rules, not by Jio itself.

Using Jio AI Glasses, UPI payments can be made without taking out a smartphone from your pocket. For this, the user does not need to unlock their smartphone or open a payment application. Artificial intelligence is used not only to answer questions but also as a technology that functions based on user commands.

Another important feature of the Jio AI Glasses is the live translation function. It allows two people speaking different Indian languages to understand each other. Furthermore, these glasses can take notes using AI, recording key moments during meetings, and also provide a live commentary feature with updates on sporting events, such as cricket.
