Audiences are eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated film 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitish Tiwari. The creators have been continuously revealing character images, and as part of this process, the first posters of two important figures were released on Friday. T-Series, which holds the music rights for the film, shared the posters of the actresses playing Rani Kakei and Manthara.
Lara Datta will play Rani Kakei in this picture, and Shiba Chadha will play Manthara. The appearance of these posters has intensified discussions about the film among fans on social media.
The portrayals of both actresses on the published posters look very impressive. Lara Datta is depicted in the regal style of Rani Kakei, dressed in traditional Indian attire and jewelry, with the dignity of a queen visible on her face. Meanwhile, Shiba Chadha, as Manthara, is presented with a cane in her hand, and her appearance looks very serious.
Upon releasing the posters, the creators also emphasized the significance of these characters. Lara Datta's poster read: 'One queen, one mother. Two desires that will betray the father's love and forever change Rama's destiny.' For Shiba Chadha's character, the creators wrote: 'Cunning mind. Whose whisper will turn maternal love into the worst period for the kingdom.'
In the mythological story of Ramayana, Rani Kakei's demand for two boons and Manthara's role in instigation were turning points in the entire plot.
This grand film, which will consist of two parts, will feature a whole constellation of stars. Ranbir Kapoor will play the main role of Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi will play Mother Sita, and South Indian superstar Yash will play Ravana. Additionally, Arun Govil will play King Dasharatha, Sani Deol will play Lord Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey will take on the role of Lakshmana. This major project is produced by Namit Malhotra (Prime Focus Studios) and Yash (Monster Mind Creations).
Regarding the release plans, the first part, 'Ramayana: Part 1,' is scheduled to be released in theaters during Diwali 2026 and will be shown worldwide by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The second part, 'Part 2,' will follow a year later, on Diwali 2027.
