Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the 7th CII Industrial Summit in Haridwar

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, participated in the 7th CII Industrial Summit and Exhibition, the Uttarakhand Industrial Summit and Expo-2026, held in Haridwar on Thursday.

Speaking at the event, CM Dhami noted that Haridwar has transformed into a major center for industrial development in Uttarakhand, in addition to its spiritual significance. He emphasized that such events serve as a common platform for business, trade, investment, and innovation, playing a key role in accelerating the state's economic growth.

According to the Chief Minister, entrepreneurs, traders, and investors are crucial for the economic progress of any region. He stated: 'Creating enterprises generates new jobs, promotes technological and innovative development, and strengthens the local economy.'

He also reported that the state government is working to create a safe, transparent, and simplified business environment in Uttarakhand, acting as a partner and helper rather than just a regulator. Dhami added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continuous efforts are being made to transform Uttarakhand into a developed, self-reliant, and economically strong state.

The expansion of transport infrastructure, including rail, road, and air connectivity, has contributed to creating favorable conditions for commercial and industrial activities. Strengthening the state's logistics capabilities is also ensured by projects such as the Rishikesh-Carnaprayag railway project and the Char Dham road project.

CM Dhami highlighted the positive results achieved through the state's industry-friendly policies. In recent years, over 29,000 new MSMEs have been established in Uttarakhand, providing employment to about 1.27 lakh youth. The 'Nivesh Mitra' system was introduced to promptly resolve issues faced by investors and entrepreneurs, and more than 206 services from 26 key departments are available online through an enhanced single-window system.

He stressed that the government aims to make the state's youth not only job seekers but also job creators. Therefore, startups and innovations are actively promoted. In addition to implementing the Uttarakhand Startup Policy, a venture fund worth 200 crore rupees has been created to financially support startups.

Furthermore, an integrated manufacturing cluster spanning about 1002 acres is being developed in Kurpiya, Udham Singh Nagar. This project is intended to significantly stimulate the state's industrial development while opening up new opportunities for investment and employment.

Dhami clarified that industrial development is not limited to the plains. Work is underway to support small industries through special industrial parks in Chamoli, Pauri, and Almora. A multi-story factory is being built in Haridwar to provide modern industrial facilities to small entrepreneurs, with similar facilities planned for Selaki and Pantnagar in the future.

The Chief Minister also focused on connecting traditional products, handicrafts, and local businesses with wider markets. Initiatives like 'One District, Two Products' aim to increase the recognition of local goods nationally and internationally. Uttarakhand is achieving rapid progress in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, herbal products, AYUSH, mechanical engineering, and auto components.

Dhami noted that the state's industry-friendly policies have received national recognition: Uttarakhand has been included in the 'Best Practices' category under the Business Reforms Plan and ranked first in its category in the Export Readiness Index for 2024.

He urged entrepreneurs and investors to take advantage of the opportunities provided by Uttarakhand and become partners in promoting investment and job creation. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government's commitment to ensuring a safe environment, transparent systems, simplified procedures, and the best investment opportunities for industry.

In conclusion, he reiterated that the state government is continuously working to make Uttarakhand not only a spiritual center but also an economically strong state, emphasizing the vital role that the business community, investors, and youth must play in this endeavor.
