The problem of snake infestation has flared up again in the Mohann Colony area of Daulpur city, resulting in the death of an 11-year-old boy. The victim, Ayush Khan, was in bed when he was bitten by a venomous snake. The family learned about the incident in the morning and rushed the child to the hospital, but doctors confirmed his death.
After the tragedy, the family stated that this is not the first case of snakes attacking their relatives. Approximately 15 years ago, a daughter in the family died from a snakebite. Following this incident, Sanjeev Khan's wife and his younger sister were also bitten by snakes, but they managed to save their lives thanks to timely hospitalization.
According to relatives, the fear of snakes intensified after the daughter's death. Ayush's death reawakened old traumas. Multiple snakebite cases in one family have caused concern among local residents.
Local residents blame problems with stagnant water and unsanitary conditions in Mohann Colony. They claim that the area lacks proper drainage systems, which promotes the breeding of venomous snakes and scorpions that frequently appear in homes and on roads.
Following Ayush's death, local residents expressed not only fear but also dissatisfaction with the administration. Residents demand that the local administration and city council permanently solve the flooding problem in Mohann Colony. Furthermore, they insist on large-scale clean-up campaigns, emphasizing that not only cosmetic repairs but also long-term resolution of drainage issues are necessary, as the threat of snakes and scorpions remains high.
Ayush's death plunged the entire area into grief. In addition to the sorrow, the family lives in constant fear of another snake attack. The family notes that this is the fourth snakebite case in their family, including one death and two saved women. Local residents insist that the authorities take serious measures to improve the sanitary condition of Mohann Colony to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
