Gemini service shows error messages on Thursday

Users of the Gemini service encountered difficulties using the platform in the afternoon on Thursday (08/10). According to reports found on social media, many users faced various error messages when sending a request or instruction to the artificial intelligence. In some cases, the tool simply reports that it cannot complete the assigned task.

Apparently, the problem is global in nature, as the publication Tecnoblog discovered complaints and responses in different languages. Furthermore, it seems that the difficulties arise regardless of the account type: both free and paid accounts are experiencing issues with Gemini.

Overall, the problem manifests as error messages such as 'Algo deu errado, tente de novo (1155)' (Something went wrong, try again (1155)), which appear when a user sends a prompt, regardless of its content. There are also instances where no error message appears, but Gemini responds with phrases like 'não consigo te ajudar com isso, eu sou apenas um modelo de linguagem' (I cannot help you with this, I am just a language model).

Gemini resources will be limited for free account users and specific plans

Users who use Gemini through free accounts should be aware of a change in the available features. Starting next Friday, October 9th, non-paying users will lose access to the Flash and Pro AI models, being restricted only to Flash Lite.

This modification will also affect those with the Google AI Plus subscription, which costs R$ 24.99 monthly in Brazil. Although these subscribers will stop accessing the Pro model, they will maintain the use of Flash and Flash Lite options.

Thus, access to all major Gemini artificial intelligence models will be exclusive to those who subscribe to Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra. As an additional benefit for those who opt for the first plan, Google will provide Deep Think, an advanced reasoning mode that was previously exclusive to Google AI Ultra.

The changes to Gemini features will be implemented globally. As indicated on a Google help page, Google AI Plus users will receive an email notification about the changes to their plans, and the application may occur gradually, and not necessarily on October 9th.

Although the help page highlights that the changes apply to the Gemini applications for Android and iOS, they will also affect the web version of the service.

In summary, the company emphasizes that all models will allow users to adjust effort levels—low, medium, or high—thereby determining the level of depth and reasoning of each model when performing tasks.

Additionally, Google had recently announced Gemini 4 Argon, intended for complex and security tasks; however, access to this model is currently restricted to 'trusted testers'.
