586 trees and shrubs illegally cut down in Tashkent region

In a two-hectare plot in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, 586 trees and shrubs were illegally cut down, resulting in environmental damage estimated at 1 billion 705 million 660 thousand soms.

The inspection was initiated after information about the tree felling in the Bostanlyk district appeared on social media. A working group, consisting of representatives from the regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change and the Bostanlyk District Ecopolice, visited the site to check the situation.

During the inspection, it was established that the company Y.D. LLC illegally pulled up trees and shrubs along with their roots on its two-hectare plot in the Gazalkent mahalla. Among the 586 uprooted plants found were nine valuable hawthorn trees, three juniper trees, three low-value cherry trees, and 571 quince bushes.

Environmental services reported that the entrepreneur had previously received warnings multiple times. Nevertheless, according to the department's data, legislative requirements were not met, and the entrepreneur attempted to resist during the work. The Ecopolice stopped this violation. The remaining timber material was subsequently disposed of using special equipment, and specialists calculated the damage.

According to the calculations, the damage amounted to 1 billion 705 million 660 thousand soms. The collected materials are planned to be handed over to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment and taking appropriate measures.
