Japanese Company Studies Silk Industry Development Project in Fergana Region

Representatives of the Japanese company Trust Engineering Partners held discussions with the leadership of the Fergana region regarding the possibility of launching a project in the silk industry sector.

According to the Fergana region administration, on October 8, the Governor of the Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, received a delegation led by Takafumi Mayuma, a representative of the company. The main topic of the meeting was proposals from the Japanese side regarding the start of silk production and further development of cooperation.

Representatives of Trust Engineering Partners expressed interest in establishing operations in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Fergana region. The Japanese side proposed implementing a project aimed at developing sericulture and reviving the country's traditional silk industry.

Currently, several projects are also being implemented in the region aimed at developing the industry and creating new production capacities.

Khayrullo Bozorov noted that Fergana's accumulated experience and existing potential in sericulture could be of interest to Japanese investors. He stated his readiness to provide the necessary support for the implementation of the new project.

The parties also considered the option of organizing interaction based on public-private partnership. Following the meeting, participants agreed to continue assessing the region's potential, develop a roadmap, and determine a phased plan for project implementation.
