Veteran Indian cinema artist Nana Patekar passed away on Thursday morning after suffering a heart attack in his residence. This was reported by ANI via phone by Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Head of Oncology at Manipal Hospital.
According to Dr. Salkar, Patekar experienced cardiac arrhythmia at home, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was administered for 45 minutes. During this procedure, he remained in asystole.
The doctor confirmed Patekar's death, noting that attempts to resuscitate him continued for 45 minutes following the heart incident. The Medical Legal Case (MLC) has been concluded, and an autopsy is now required.
Nana Patekar was a renowned actor in the Hindi and Marathi film industries. He began his acting career with the 1978 film 'Gaman' and later gained recognition for roles in films such as 'Parinda', 'Prahar', 'Angar', 'Krantivir', 'Tiranga', 'Khamoshi', and 'Ab Tak Chhappan'.
In recent years, Patekar continued to participate in various projects. He featured in the film 'Housefull 5', which starred Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh.
Patekar, who was 75 years old, also played a police officer in Vishal Bhardwaj's film 'O'Romeo', alongside Shahid Kapoor and Tripti Dimri. Furthermore, he appeared in the film 'Subedar' as a cameo, featuring Anil Kapoor and Radhika Madan.
