The design team described the concept of the Campeche Houses as the result of a shared plan between two friends to build their residences in Florianópolis. The decision to use a joint plot of land on Campeche Beach held a meaning that went beyond practicality, carrying significant symbolism.
The main architectural challenge was developing two autonomous properties within the same lot. This project needed to balance the independence of each house with the potential for closer coexistence, bordering on a communal character.
