On Wednesday, a 19-year-old woman from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), whom the Army had detained along the Line of Control (LoC) in Noshher, Rajouri district, last week, was returned via Chakkan Da Bagh in Poonch district.
Military personnel from 6/1 Gorkha Rifles detained this woman—Samia Azim from Bains Gala, Seri, in Kotli district of PoK—in the Lam area on October 2 after she crossed the border into India. She was subsequently handed over to local police.
According to an official, after completing all necessary procedures, police and Army personnel escorted her from the Lam police post to Chakkan Da Bagh, from where she was returned through the established crossing point.
