The Uzbek-French University and the Franco-Uzbekistan Economic Chamber signed a memorandum of understanding. The goal of this agreement is to achieve closer integration of university education with the business environment.
The signing took place on October 6, 2026, at the residence of the French Ambassador in Uzbekistan, according to the Chamber. The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the University, Nurmuhammad Yusupov, and the Chairman of the Chamber, Alisher Khaitmetov. The agreement is valid for three years.
The Business Chamber unites over 60 French and Uzbek companies and is part of the CCI France International network, which includes 121 chambers in 95 countries. According to the terms of the memorandum, the Chamber will act as an intermediary between the university and the business community.
The parties agreed to cooperate in several areas, including internships, dual education, and the first employment of students, as well as the participation of specialists from chamber member companies in the educational process. The Chamber will also promote the university's curricula among companies.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in business meetings, thematic breakfasts, and visit industrial facilities. Furthermore, the parties will jointly organize job fairs and career days, utilizing the CCI France International network to establish academic and professional connections abroad.
Alisher Khaitmetov noted: 'Our companies are looking for engineers and managers, while the university annually graduates specialists precisely in these fields. What was missing was not demand or supply, but a bridge connecting them. Today we are opening that bridge.'
The Uzbek-French University trains students in three fields: communications and languages, energy mechanical engineering, and transport and logistics management.
