How to clean an electric kettle from yellow tea and milk stains using vinegar and baking soda

When regularly brewing tea or milk in an electric kettle, especially during the colder months, stubborn yellow, brown, or burnt stains can form on the inner surface and around the edges. If cleaning is not done in a timely manner, an unpleasant odor may appear from the kettle, and the taste of the tea will deteriorate.

Since this is an electronic appliance, it cannot be cleaned like regular dishes, for example, by submerging it in water or using metal scrubbers. However, if such ingrained stains appear in your kettle, they can be easily removed in just five minutes using white vinegar and baking soda.

The following components are needed for the procedure: one glass of white vinegar or the juice of two lemons, one tablespoon of baking soda, two glasses of water, dish soap, and a soft sponge or kitchen towel.

The first step is to mix the solution by adding one glass of white vinegar and two glasses of water to the electric kettle, ensuring that the entire area with stains is completely covered by the solution. Then, you need to turn on the kettle to boil the water, after which you should turn it off and leave the hot solution inside for 15 to 20 minutes. The acid in the vinegar will help loosen the stuck yellow stains.

After this, the solution should be poured into the sink. Next, pour one tablespoon of baking soda into the kettle. Take a soft sponge, wet it with dish soap, and gently scrub the inner surfaces of the kettle. All yellow and burnt traces should disappear immediately.

The final stage is rinsing and drying. It is important to remember that water should only be poured inside the kettle, keeping the lower electrical base away from moisture. The interior must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water two or three times. Wipe the exterior surface with a damp kitchen towel, and then let it air dry using a dry towel.
