The thirteenth joint meeting of the Uzbek-Russian and Russian-Uzbek Business Councils took place in Fergana on October 6. The event gathered representatives from ministries and departments of both countries, regional chambers of trade and industry, as well as business circles. This was reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The co-chairs of the meeting were Odilxon Rustamov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Fyodor Degtyaryov, Executive Director of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council.
At the opening, speakers included Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia; Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Jakhongir Akramov, Deputy Head of the Department of Investment and Light Industry of the Fergana Region.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs from the two countries presented projects in fields such as textile industry, agro-industrial sector, logistics, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Participants also discussed opportunities for creating joint production capacities and bringing finished products to the markets of Russia and Central Asian countries.
A separate part of the discussions was dedicated to the development of female entrepreneurship. Representatives of the International Public Foundation 'Sharq Ayoli' and the All-Russian Public Organization 'Women in Business' shared their experience and discussed prospects for cooperation in this area.
Upon completion of the meeting, the agreements reached were formalized through several documents. In particular, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, the Russian-Uzbek Business Council, and the Uzbek-Russian Business Council.
Furthermore, memorandums on cooperation were signed between the Fergana Regional Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tyumen Oblast, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Southern Urals. These agreements are aimed at expanding direct contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries, implementing new joint projects, and further developing trade and economic partnership.
