Honda launches restyling of the WR-V in India with visual elements similar to the City 2027

Honda introduced the first aesthetic update of the Elevate, marketed in Brazil as the WR-V, in India this Tuesday, the 6th. This modernization occurs almost a year after the model's launch in the Brazilian market and incorporates subtle design changes along with new features, following a similar approach to that adopted by the recently launched City 2027 in the country.

In Brazil, the expectation is that the restyled version of the WR-V will only be available after 2028. In India, the SUV maintains its base price of 11.80 lakh rupees (approximately R$ 64.5 thousand) and features a new top-tier version, the ZX+, starting from 16.80 lakh rupees (about R$ 92 thousand). This strategy aims to compete with models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, both sold in Brazil.

Although the square body structure is maintained, the vehicle has received a redesigned grille with a glossy black finish, the logo has been repositioned on the hood, and a new LED strip has been added between the headlights. At the rear, the taillights are now connected by a light bar.

This design recalls that of the City 2027, as both the sedan and the hatchback versions of the Honda also had their grilles redesigned and featured the logo in a frame projecting onto the hood, in addition to the inclusion of the LED strip.

Interior enhancements include dedicated air vents for the rear seat, front seats with electric and ventilation functions, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, ambient lighting, and a PM 2.5 air filter.

Similar to the City, the mechanical configuration remained unchanged. The Elevate continues to be equipped with the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, which generates 121 hp and 14.8 kgfm, and can be paired with a six-speed manual or CVT transmission, and does not have a hybrid option.

In automatic configurations, the SUV now features disc brakes on the rear wheels, replacing drums, in addition to incorporating electronic parking brake with Auto Hold function. The standard safety package includes six airbags, and in the more expensive versions, the Honda Sensing suite is present, offering Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features. In Brazil, this package is already offered as standard on the WR-V EX and EXL versions, priced at R$ 144,900.
