Pike's lawyers issued a statement, cited by the Associated Press (AP), stating that against all expectations, she is conscious and speaking, remaining under intensive care. Despite serious injuries to her arms, she remains restrained and chained to the bed. The lawyers described her recovery as unprecedented from a medical standpoint, although her prognosis remains uncertain, with at least a prolonged recovery expected.
Additionally, her representatives expressed gratitude to the first responders and the hospital medical team, highlighting that they treated Christa as a human being and provided her with exceptional assistance.
