Flipkart launches Big Billion Days sale on October 9; Myntra and Cleartrip announce similar promotions

Flipkart's Big Billion Days (TBBD) sale starts on October 9, and its affiliated companies Myntra and Cleartrip have also announced similar promotions.

The 13th edition of TBBD will feature over 150 million products from brands across all categories: from daily necessities to flagship electronics, luxury fashion, cosmetics, major home appliances, and holiday gifts.

Flipkart reported that TBBD 2026 will feature the highest number of participating sellers, exceeding last year's count by more than 60%, as well as doubling the new assortment for buyers. The introduction of 0% commission for the fashion industry helped attract 75% of new sellers to the platform before this event.

Furthermore, Flipkart noted that over 2.5 crore units of products from MSMEs, small sellers, artisans, and weavers were pre-placed in Ekart fulfillment centers to ensure faster delivery during the holidays, giving local businesses direct access to 500 million registered customers across India.

Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy stated: 'Thirteen years ago, e-commerce in India was a novelty. Today, it is infrastructure. Big Billion Days is perhaps the most obvious annual proof of this shift: 500 million registered customers, 1.4 million sellers, a supply chain that reaches communities in Leh and Kargil for the first time this year, and nearly 75,000 people entering the formal workforce for the first time through Flipkart during this festive season.'

The e-commerce company also reported that its quick delivery segment, Flipkart Minutes, has grown fourfold year-on-year and now operates in over 150 cities and 9000 postal codes through almost 1200 micro-fulfillment centers. During this festive season, Minutes will offer over 77,000 products across more than 1400 categories, including daily essentials, fresh farm produce, premium electronics, fashion, and last-minute gifts.

Flipkart also specified that over 2.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs have been created during the festive season, about 75,000 of which are for first-time job entrants. Women now constitute over 20% of Flipkart's supply chain workforce.

Fashion marketplace Myntra announced its flagship festival, Big Fashion Festival (BFF), starting on October 8. According to Myntra, this year's festival will showcase over 8 million styles, double the previous season, covering international, domestic, new, and D2C brands. Key categories expected to see high festive demand during BFF include ethnic wear for men and women, men's casual wear, women's western wear, cosmetics and personal care, watches and wearables, jewelry and accessories, sports footwear, and home and lifestyle goods.

Sharon Pais, Head of Myntra, stated: 'At Myntra, we blend the festive spirit with advanced technology, using our AI tools and expanded delivery network to make fashion accessible, personalized, and seamless for over 80 million customers across the country.'

Cleartrip, a Flipkart group company, announced its travel festival on Tuesday with various travel offers under Big Billion Days (BBD) 2026. Offers cover flights, hotels, buses, trains, and package tours, with opportunities for discounts on limited stock, selective fares, bank discounts, and loyalty bonuses during the sale.
