The Governor of the Fergana Region of Uzbekistan, Khayrullo Bozorov, held discussions on new directions of interregional interaction with Konstantin Sidorenko, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of Primorsky Krai, Russia.
The meeting took place at the Fergana exhibition complex during the third session of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia. The parties reviewed opportunities to expand trade, economic, and investment ties, as well as implement joint projects between the regions.
Key Areas of Cooperation
One of the central issues was promoting the products of the Fergana Region in the Russian market. In particular, it was proposed to create a trade house and a trade and distribution center in Primorye for goods from Fergana.
This center is intended to ensure the supply of agricultural products, dried fruits, and fresh fruits from Fergana not only to other regions of Russia but also to the markets of Vietnam and China. Participants also paid attention to the development of transport routes, discussing the potential for creating direct air connections between Fergana and Primorye.
Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the development of logistics, tourism, and humanitarian cooperation. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue working on specific projects and to move the achieved agreements and initiatives toward practical implementation.
