A study based on online survey data established a certain correlation between symptoms of muscle dysmorphia, known as bigorexia, and sexual function problems in young men. Bigorexia is a psychological condition in which an individual feels that their body is insufficiently developed and muscular.
It was found that dissatisfaction with one's appearance correlates with a higher level of various sexual disorders. The data from this study were officially published in the scientific journal Body Image.
