The Minister of Culture of Russia, Olga Lyubimova, proposed organizing a Russia-Uzbekistan film forum. This proposal was made during her meeting with the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, in Moscow.
Olga Lyubimova noted that cultural cooperation between the countries is developing at unprecedented rates. During the meeting, the parties discussed joint work in the field of cinematography. Lyubimova suggested to her Uzbek colleagues holding a Russia-Uzbekistan film forum, which could serve as a platform for presenting projects by producers, finding partners, and moving towards practical cooperation.
According to the ministry, this initiative could be an important step in developing the already signed agreement on joint film production.
Furthermore, Olga Lyubimova reminded about the large-scale 'Khvorostovsky' arts festival in Krasnoyarsk, scheduled from October 16 to 31. Among the main events of this festival is the tour of the State Academic Big Theatre named after Alisher Navoi.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in the field of museums and restoration. Lyubimova added that specialists from 'Tsarskoe Selo' visited Bukhara region in September to inspect Amir's Palace in Kogand and the Amir's summer residence in Bukhara, as well as to provide consultations on scientific projects and research.
