Tecnoblog discovered in an exclusive first that there is a significant change at Nubank: users of the mobile operator NuCel will receive more internet allowance at no additional cost, with an increase that can reach 40%.
Bruna Costa, service manager, stated that the guideline is clear: 'our customers must have access to the best available offer.' She detailed that the new packages will start applying tomorrow, October 6th, for new customers, while existing customers will undergo an automatic migration starting October 12th.
With this modification made on Tuesday, NuCel began offering plans with higher allowances of 5 GB to 10 GB compared to the previous portfolio. The company is recognized as the largest virtual mobile operator (MVNO) in the country, with over one million subscribers, according to June data.
In recent months, Nubank has intensified the use of telephony as an interaction channel with its banking customers. An example of this is the benefit granted to users of the new Croma Platinum card, launched in July, which now includes 17 GB of free NuCel service for six months, an increase from the 10 GB offered at launch.
The current conditions of Nubank's operator include various telecommunication benefits in all plans. Furthermore, there is a financial benefit: access to a 'Caixinha' (small savings pot) that yields 120% of the CDI, with a limit set at R$ 10 thousand.
Payment for NuCel services can be made using the Nubank account balance or via credit card, and there is no requirement for a loyalty contract. It is important to note that the service operates using the Claro network.
In September 2025, Nubank introduced the GB Reservation feature, which functions as a stock of extra data. This stock is automatically activated when the plan allowance runs out; each reserved gigabyte is valid for up to 365 days and, once activated, can be consumed within a period of up to 30 days.
Bruna Costa concluded her note to TB by stating that 'this evolution reinforces our proposal to make mobile telephony simpler, more transparent, and focused on the real needs of customers.' In parallel, it was reported that another operator, Fluke, carried out a similar action the previous week, increasing internet allowances without changing the main plans, as also revealed by Tecnoblog. Fluke's lowest-cost plan offers 5 GB for R$ 25.
