The Uzbekistan–India Travel & Tourism Business Forum and a B2B meeting between representatives of the tourism industries of Uzbekistan and Hyderabad took place in Tashkent. The goal of these events was to develop direct business ties and increase the exchange of tourist flows between the two countries.
The event was held with the support of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and in cooperation with Centrum Air as part of a Familiarization Trip (FAM Trip) organized on the occasion of the launch of direct air communication on the Tashkent–Hyderabad route.
Twelve representatives of the Hyderabad tourism industry participated in the visit to Uzbekistan from October 2 to 5, 2026. They held meetings with representatives of Uzbek tour operators and discussed promising areas for joint work.
One of the key issues was the presentation of Uzbekistan's tourism potential for the Indian market. Indian delegates were shown historical and cultural routes covering Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, as well as trips to sites of the Great Silk Road. Opportunities for developing gastronomic, eco-tourism, and pilgrimage tourism were also discussed.
Participants also considered issues of joint development and promotion of tourism packages, creation of new destinations, and ways to increase the length of stay of foreign tourists in Uzbekistan. Special attention was paid to expanding travel geography and direct interaction between tour operators from both countries. The parties discussed creating tourism offerings tailored to the interests of Indian travelers.
The launch of a direct flight between Hyderabad and Tashkent opens up additional prospects for the development of tourism exchange. This new route can be used to form comprehensive tours that include Tashkent and other tourist centers of Uzbekistan.
As part of the FAM Trip, Uzbekistan hosted Indian travel blogger Vaibhav Kundra, whose Instagram audience exceeds five million followers. During the trip, he explored the country's tourist attractions and presented them to his online audience in India.
The business negotiations are designed to promote the establishment of new business contacts, the creation of joint tourism products, and an increase in the number of tourists traveling between Uzbekistan and India.
