Richa Chadda on the success of the film Hanuman ANS: religious and mythological films are always in demand

The film 'Hanuman ANS', created with a budget of 2 crore rupees and based on the story of Nim Karoli Baba, continues to demonstrate significant success eight weeks after its release. Despite the time passed, the film has not lost its popularity, earning over 400 crore rupees worldwide. The film is also planned for release in South Indian regions, and the first Telugu trailer has already been released.

When journalists asked actress Richa Chadda about the significance of 'Hanuman ANS''s success for the 2026 film industry and the prospects for quality content, she disagreed with this assumption. She noted that 'Hanuman ANS' is an exception and cannot be compared to other films such as the Hollywood movie 'Obsession'.

Richa Chadda believes that mythological films traditionally enjoy good demand. She emphasized that religious or mythological pictures are a safe choice for viewers because people watch them. Therefore, in her opinion, it is premature to speak of major changes in cinema.

The actress also expressed the opinion that for Indian cinema to become truly content-oriented, it is necessary to focus primarily on good scripts and authors. She is confident that increasing the remuneration for screenwriters and writers will allow more attention to be paid to the content of the films, which will ultimately lead to films with strong plots becoming market leaders.

In the context of successful releases this year, besides 'Hanuman ANS', the successes of 'Dhurandar: Revenge' and the ongoing box office collection of 'Drishyam 3' are noted. However, according to Richa, no other film from South India or Bollywood has yet emerged that possesses both outstanding content and commercial success. Future projects expected include Rajinikanth's 'Jailer 2', Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayana', Shraddha Kapoor's 'Ita', and Shah Rukh Khan's 'King'.

Financial results of three films: 'Hanuman ANSH' exceeded 400 million, 'Da Paradise' is gaining momentum, and 'Da Van' shows initial figures

The current situation at the box office demonstrates a very diverse picture of the revenues of three films. Among them is 'Hanuman ANSH', which, despite having been released 52 days ago, maintains strong positions in cinemas and has surpassed the mark of 400 million rupees worldwide. Another picture is presented by the film 'Da Paradise', which is showing rapid growth after its release, while 'Da Van - The Power of the Forest' is also trying to establish itself during its first week of screening.

Since the run duration and audience reaction for each of these films are different, conclusions cannot be drawn based solely on the overall box office collection.

'Hanuman ANSH', inspired by the life of Nim Korali Babu, has become an example of long-term success at the box office. Initially, the film showed a very slow pace. According to reports, the collection in India in the first two weeks was only about 1.48 million rupees. However, starting from the third week due to word-of-mouth, the situation began to change, and in the fourth, fifth, and sixth weeks, the film made a significant leap.

On the 52nd day, the film earned 9 million rupees in India. Meanwhile, the total net collection in India reached 307.03 million rupees, and the gross collection was 362.70 million rupees. The addition of 38.50 million rupees from abroad brought the worldwide gross collection to 401.20 million rupees. Notably, the income of 9 million rupees received on the 52nd day is 38.5 percent higher than the 6.50 million rupees earned the previous day.

The film, which started with an opening of 1 million rupees, is now earning 9 million rupees in a single day even in the eighth week. This distinguishes its box office history from the other two films. It is also reported that Sunday attendance in the eighth week was about 46 percent, and evening screenings in Hindi 2D reached 75 percent.

As for 'Da Paradise', its market position is completely different. The film is in the early stages of its run, so its collection cannot be directly compared with the figures of 'Hanuman ANSH'. According to available data, the film has collected 144.85 million rupees worldwide. This amount includes 114.85 million rupees from India and 30 million rupees from abroad, with a net collection in India of 97.10 million rupees.

Having achieved 37,138 screenings, the film demonstrated good initial momentum. Thus, the situation with 'Da Paradise' is currently related to initial impulse, whereas 'Hanuman ANSH' demonstrates long-term success and sustainability. Existing reports also indicate that 'Da Paradise' achieved strong collections on the weekends of its launch.

It is interesting that while 'Hanuman ANSH' took several weeks to reach a wide audience, 'Da Paradise' started collecting significant funds in the first few days of its release. Therefore, the revenue graphs of these two films look completely opposite.

Speaking of the film 'Da Van - The Power of the Forest', starring Siddharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, it is on its fourth day of release. According to statistics, on the fourth day, the film generated 5.25 million rupees in net income. This resulted in a net collection in India of 38.85 million rupees and a gross collection in India of 46.35 million rupees. After receiving 4 million rupees from abroad, the worldwide gross collection of the film reached 50.35 million rupees.

An interesting point is that the film has been shown in 7,012 screenings by the fourth day. This indicates good coverage of screenings, but it still needs to work to strengthen its initial collection. According to current reports, there is an increase in collections during the first weekend weeks of the film.

If all three films are viewed in one context, the picture becomes clear. 'Hanuman ANSH', being a film released 52 days ago, continues to earn 9 million rupees in net income per day and has exceeded a worldwide gross collection of 401.20 million rupees. 'Da Paradise' collected 144.85 million rupees worldwide in a shorter period, while 'Da Van - The Power of the Forest' approached 50.35 million rupees on its fourth day.

However, relying only on numbers is incorrect. The specialty of 'Hanuman ANSH' lies in its long run and the late appearance of positive reviews. The story of 'Da Paradise' is currently linked to initial speed, while 'Da Van' is undergoing a test during its first week. Future days will determine how long the initial enthusiasm of these two new films will last in the long term.

American singer performs hit from the film 'Hanuman Ansh,' video garners 1.6 million views

The song 'Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman' from the film 'Hanuman Ansh' attracted global attention after being performed by an American singer. The film 'Hanuman Ansh' itself, created with a budget of about 20 million rupees, earned over 400 million rupees internationally, and its songs and plot gained popularity among people.

A recent religious hymn from this movie drew the attention of audiences outside India. American musician Alex Soderberg recorded his version of this hymn, performing it accompanied by an ektaara, and his video went viral on social media. His style of performance received approval from Indian users as well.

Alex Soderberg stated in his video that he would like to watch the film 'Hanuman Ansh,' but it is currently unavailable where he resides. Nevertheless, he really liked the film's soundtrack, especially the sound of the ektaara. He noted that he also has a small ektaara, so he tried singing the song on it. At the end of his post, he added 'Jai Shri Ram.'

This post showed that the musical component of the film reached the listener even without watching the movie itself. It was the unique style of the hymn's performance that sparked public interest on social networks.

According to Alex Soderberg's Instagram profile, he is a geologist and a teacher of Vedic meditation, and he is also interested in music. His profile demonstrates an enthusiasm for Indian music and musical instruments, which led to his video performing 'Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman' on the ektaara gaining significant attention.

Alex's video quickly went viral on social media, accumulating around 1.6 million views. Users highly praised his vocal performance and his playing style on the ektaara. Despite having a foreign accent in his voice, the reaction from Indian users to his rendition of the hymn was very positive, and many acknowledged his effort.

In the comments under the video, some Indian users invited Alex to visit India, expressing a desire to welcome him during his visit. Other users also complimented his performance and his interest in Indian music. Ultimately, the song from 'Hanuman Ansh' became a topic of discussion on social media because its music reached Alex, and he presented it in his own performance on the ektaara, attracting the attention of the Indian audience.

Siddhartha Malhotra's film 'The One' succeeds while Nani's 'The Paradise' faces revenue decline

Interest in Indian films is currently surpassing interest in South Indian cinema. The film 'Hanuman Ansh,' which has been in theaters for 50 days, is showing high box office collections. Although several other films were released during its run, they proved to be unsuccessful. New major movies premiered in theaters this week, attracting public attention.

Among them are 'The One' starring Siddharth Malhotra and Tamma Bhatia, as well as Nani's 'The Paradise,' which competed with it.

Considering 'Hanuman Ansh': on its 50th day, there was a slight decrease in revenue. According to Sakencilk, on its seventh Friday, the film earned a net of 3.35 crore rupees across 3767 screens. The film's total net collection reached 291.53 crore rupees. Due to the release of new movies, the number of screens showing 'Hanuman Ansh' also significantly decreased. Previously, on the 24th, the film was shown on approximately 6000 screens, indicating that its earnings began to gradually decline.

On the other hand, Nani and Raghav Jurel's film 'The Paradise,' released on a weekday on September 24th, also faced serious financial losses. After earning over 45 crore rupees in net collection on its premiere day, the film's revenue dropped by 57% on the second day. By Friday, the film collected a net of 14.90 crore rupees, reaching 61.15 crore rupees over two days. Based on the start, it seemed the film would easily collect 100 crore rupees in two days, but this now seems unlikely. The film faced a serious slump due to negative audience reviews.

Meanwhile, the film 'The One Force of the Forest,' produced with the involvement of Ekta Kapoor, created a sensation at the box office. It started with an opening collection of 8 crore rupees across 7646 screens on the first day. States such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh contributed the most to this success. The film's plot is related to the Temple of the Forest Goddess in Bihar and depicts the sacred festival of Chhath Puja, which evokes a strong emotional connection among the local population. Critics gave the film mixed reviews. Nevertheless, the film starring Siddharth Malhotra started its run with a strong beginning, and it remains to be seen what its total earnings will be over its entire run.
