The Postgraduate Program in Psychology at the University of Fortaleza (Unifor) is promoting a free training called Entrevozes – Training for Health, Social Assistance, and Public Security Professionals of the State of Ceará who serve women victims of violence. This initiative will take place from October 8 to November 19, 2026, totaling 20 class hours.
The training is organized by the Laboratory of Studies of Complex Systems: couples, families, and communities (LESPLEXOS), affiliated with the Postgraduate Program in Psychology at Unifor, which is maintained by the Edson Queiroz Foundation. The main objective of this training is to qualify professionals so they can act in a more coordinated and prepared manner when dealing with situations of violence against women in the state.
The activities will be conducted remotely using the Google Meet platform and will consist of seven synchronous modules and two asynchronous modules, held daily from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The teaching staff includes psychologists, professors, and researchers from Unifor, Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), and the University of Brasília (UnB), all with experience in supporting women victims of violence and training professionals in the protection network.
During the modules, various crucial topics will be addressed, such as understanding violence against women, its multiple forms and dynamics, as well as strategies to improve the care provided by professionals. The detailed schedule covers the ecological model of violence, intersectionality theory, typologies and specific dynamics of violence against women, risk and protection factors, good practices of listening and welcoming, risk assessment, and decision-making procedures in cases of violence.
Furthermore, there will be a segment dedicated to analyzing practical cases and another focused on the self-care of the professionals themselves who are part of the protection network, under the theme 'Caring for those who care: promoting the well-being of professionals.' Upon completion of the training, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
