Univás relaunches Human Resources Management course in Pouso Alegre with new curriculum

The University of Vale do Sapucaí (Univás), located in Pouso Alegre, is resuming the Technology degree in Human Resources Management. This offering features a completely renewed curriculum, specifically aimed at students enrolling in 2027.

With an expected duration of two years, the main objective of this training is to align education with the business demands of the South of Minas Gerais region and qualify professionals to face contemporary challenges in people management.

Discussion on Regional Need

José Dias da Silva Neto, Rector of Univás, commented that this relaunch addresses a growing need in local development: training specialists capable of recruiting, developing, and retaining talent, in addition to supporting leadership and participating in decisions that impact corporate performance.

In turn, the new course coordinator, Professor Daniel Barbieri, emphasized that the area requires more HR professionals who can combine technical skills, understanding of the business sector, and interpersonal ability.

Barbieri stressed that Southern Minas requires professionals ready to deal with real company problems. He detailed that the process ranges from hiring to individual development, leader preparation, and understanding the reasons for employee retention or departure, aiming to create environments conducive to growth and results delivery.

According to the coordinator, the professional gap particularly lies with those who can link HR activities to the overall business strategy. Barbieri reinforced that it is crucial to expand the training of people who understand both the human and strategic aspects of the enterprise, as failures in hiring, development, or leadership can harm productivity and service quality, with HR being central to this process.

How to Register

Those interested in pursuing the Technology degree in Human Resources Management at Univás can register through two modalities, according to the candidate's preference. In Modality I, registration is done solely online, and the online test will be available up to two business days after payment of the registration fee. In Modality II, registration is also done online, but candidates must provide their enrollment number and the year of the Enem exam so that their score can be verified; for this second modality, Enem years from 2018 to 2025 are accepted.

Integration with Artificial Intelligence

The curriculum was enriched with subjects such as Digital Culture and Applied AI, People Analytics, Innovation and Digital Transformation in HR, Business Partner and Internal Consulting, and Strategic Management and Integrated People Practices. Professor Barbieri highlighted that the modern HR professional must master the use of technology and data interpretation, but must also possess critical thinking. He warned that, given that they work with information that affects lives, innovation must always go hand-in-hand with ethics, responsibility, and respect.

Graduation Structure

The course is structured into four semesters, totaling a workload of 1,600 hours. The coordinator stated that it is an objective degree directly linked to the workplace. The purpose is for the student to assimilate fundamental concepts, learn to use tools, and develop the capacity to solve problems and propose solutions, making the training relevant for both beginners and those already in the market seeking specialization.

Contribution to Regional Development

For Daniel Barbieri, the reopening of the course represents a significant contribution by the university to professional qualification and the advancement of the South of Minas region. He concluded that while companies demand prepared labor, individuals need opportunities to evolve, and the university plays a vital role in this connection. By relaunching the course with a totally updated matrix, the intention is to train professionals who help organizations prosper and, simultaneously, improve the working experience of employees in these companies.
