The increase in the number of public sanitary facilities in the central and tourist districts of Tashkent is planned. It is planned to install one hundred new toilets, and 140.4 million soms will be allocated for project development and topographic surveys.
The decision to implement this project was made by the Hokim of Tashkent on October 5. The new sanitary facilities will be installed on busy streets, in squares, and near crowded places, while complying with modern design solutions and being implemented with the participation of the private sector.
The initial stage of work requires determining suitable locations and conducting necessary topographic surveys. Funds amounting to 140.4 million soms will be provided from the Development Fund of Tashkent of LLC 'Scientific Research Institute of Engineering Survey Design in Construction, Geoinformation, and Urban Cadastre'. The decision to allocate these funds must be approved by the supervisory board of Tashkent Invest Company.
The City Administration of the State Financial Control Inspectorate will oversee the targeted use of the allocated funds. This project is scheduled for 2026 and is part of Tashkent's development program for the period 2026–2027. Authorities expect that the appearance of new sanitary facilities will improve the level of comfort for residents and visitors of the capital in the central and tourist zones.
Previously, sanitary rooms were opened in the city at the 'Mustaqillik maydoni' and 'Bodomzor' metro stations.
