Sharjah Ruler Opens Education Academy Building in University City with Research Capabilities

The Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council, officially opened the building of the Sharjah Education Academy on Sunday morning. This opening reflects the institution's commitment to creating a comprehensive academic environment that extends beyond traditional classrooms, integrating learning, scientific research, interaction, and professional development.

The purpose of this building is to provide a human-centered educational experience that supports innovation and collaboration, while also contributing to the training of education specialists capable of shaping the future of the learning sector.

Upon arriving at the site located in the University City, Sheikh Sultan unveiled a memorial plaque before touring the complex. The building features a wide range of educational, research, and service facilities, as well as areas designated for student events and interaction.

These amenities are intended to enrich the educational process, strengthen communication and collaboration among members of the academic community in a safe and inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes equal opportunities.

Sheikh Sultan was shown the facilities available to students, the learning resource center, the student services department, administrative offices, and support services. He was also shown the academy's efforts to create a supportive and inclusive environment for people with disabilities, as well as the security systems, technological infrastructure, and 'smart building' functions.

In its initial phase, the building includes several classrooms and training rooms designed to meet curriculum requirements and support various teaching and learning methods. The classrooms consist of nine rooms, each accommodating 25 students, providing a total capacity of 225 people. Four training rooms can accommodate up to 75 people each, totaling a capacity of 300 students.

Furthermore, the facility is equipped with an inclusive lecture hall designed for large-scale lectures, seminars, and courses. It provides suitable conditions for collaborative learning and interaction, helping to realize a comprehensive educational experience aligned with diverse academic programs and modern teaching methodologies.

In the second phase, the building will undergo further development on the upper floor, and numerous facilities will be added to complete the campus. These additions include an administrative building, a Board of Trustees meeting hall, multi-purpose halls, sports facilities, a residential block, and a studio equipped with specialized production space for video, audio programs, discussions, interviews, and media content. The expansion also includes the creation of a staff lounge, ensuring an integrated working environment that meets the needs of the academic community.
