China's growing presence in global politics and trade has become a subject of widespread discussion worldwide. China is actively developing its strategy on the African continent, establishing a network of over 40 ports in about 32 countries.
As part of this strategy, Beijing is working to form a new maritime Silk Road. The goal of this project is to secure China's own commercial interests and challenge US dominance in the region.
