Indian Engineer Working in the US Considers Returning to India Due to Loneliness

A 35-year-old Indian engineer working in America is regretting his decision to move to the US. He shared his thoughts in a Reddit post and asked users for advice.

The engineer moved to America 12 years ago. Despite having a good job in engineering and accumulating over $360,000, he feels lonely in the expensive city. Because of this, he is considering returning to India.

In his post, he mentioned that although he has a stable job, he lives in a rented apartment in a small area. He also noted that his father runs a small construction company in India, which he could take over. This company generates an annual income of 10 million rupees, which would allow him to live comfortably.

The feeling of loneliness has become a serious problem. He noted that his dreams were big when he came to America, but now he feels intense loneliness while paying $4000 for a small wooden room. Meanwhile, he has a large, well-built house in Mumbai.

His main obstacle is the desire to have children, but he does not want his children to face the immigration problems he went through. Due to this dilemma, he doesn't know whether to continue earning more in America or return to India and lead a quiet life. He also asked users if anyone had experience managing a family business after returning from abroad, and whether he should advise living peacefully in India or staying to work there.

After the post went viral on social media, users began sharing their opinions. Some advised him to return to India, arguing that prolonged indecision could worsen the situation. Others advised him to stay, as one user noted that they themselves experienced difficulties within just three years.
