A hut was burned down in Badayun, with a young woman standing in front of it in a state of anger. Her words, which were recorded on video, caused a wide resonance in social networks. The woman, whose name is Shivani Kashyap, accuses the police and the land surveyors, claiming that they forcibly entered her home and set the hut on fire. In a rage, she exclaimed, 'I will take revenge like Phulnan Devi.'
However, there is another version of events. The police state that they themselves set the hut on fire, and then the entire incident was distorted. This case occurred in the village of Labnari, which belongs to the Kadarchauk district in Badayun. The conflict arose between two parties over land surveying work.
According to the police version, on September 29, a land department team arrived in the village at Nanni Devi's complaint to conduct demarcation. After this, her ownership of the plot was restored. Nevertheless, the dispute flared up again the next day. On September 30, Nanni Devi began work on laying the foundation on her plot, but according to the police, the other party demolished this foundation.
The situation escalated, and on October 1, the revenue team along with police forces arrived in the village again to continue the demarcation work. However, the police claim that it was at this moment that government affairs were obstructed. Following this, a video appeared that changed the course of the entire case.
The video shows a burning hut, and in front of it stands the girl Shivani Kashyap, who is making claims against the police and the land surveyors. She alleges that the team illegally entered the house and burned the hut. She then exclaimed in anger: 'I will take revenge like Phulnan Devi.' But the police version differs from this. The police insist that they burned the hut themselves, and that after obstructing government activities, the incident was presented differently to accuse the police and the land surveyors.
On one side are the accusations of the young woman, and on the other are the statements of the police, with a dispute over land demarcation that began on September 29 between them. A criminal case has currently been registered regarding the matter. According to the police, the case was registered at the Kadarchauk police station based on the statement of a local land surveyor. The police arrested five people; one woman was released on bail, and action has been taken against four individuals.
After the girl's video went viral, Aditya Yadav, a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Socialist Party of Badayun, demanded an investigation. He stated that the investigation should be conducted not by the local police, but by the police of another precinct. He accused them of using articles to frame innocent people. Currently, there is a viral video, a police statement, and a demand from the deputy for an investigation. The story, which started with a single land demarcation, led to accusations, a fire, viral videos, and police action.
