The Korean name 'ㅅㄱ' is derived from Sucote (Sukkoth), a place mentioned in the Old Testament. Sucote represented the first stopping point for the Israelites when leaving Egypt, serving as a refuge for those who had not yet reached the Promised Land, allowing them to rest and prepare for the journey.
This historical concept is brought into contemporary urban life through the Sungui Church Cultural Space. This space is situated in the former neighborhood of Sungui-dong, within the Michuhol-gu district, in the city of Incheon.
