Drivers in Dubai should expect delays on Sunday due to the 'Proud of UAE' cycling race. The Road and Transport Authority recommended that the public be prepared for slowdowns on several roads on Sunday from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM while race participants are moving along the route.
Residents were advised to plan their trips in advance, allow extra travel time, and strictly follow traffic signs and official instructions to ensure more comfortable movement.
The second edition of this competition is being held by the Dubai Police General Command on Sunday. The 80-kilometer race starts from Al Sheba Centre at 6:00 AM as part of the season's cycling sports program. The event is organized jointly with the UAE Cycling Federation, the Dubai Sports Council, and the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
According to Dubai Police, the total prize fund for the race is 140,000 dirhams. This competition is part of sporting and national events aimed at increasing patriotism towards the UAE, celebrating the country's achievements, and promoting sports as a lifestyle and contributing to the health and well-being of society.
