Video featuring Rassie Erasmus in a meme from the movie 'White Girls' singing to the World Cup theme

Although the video circulating online may be entirely AI-generated, it has attracted attention. It shows Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus singing to the tune of the World Cup.

This clip is a parody of a famous scene from the movie 'White Girls,' where Terry Crews energetically sings Vanessa Carlton's song 'A Thousand Miles' in a convertible. In this AI-created version, published by user just.fomzy, the digital image of the Springboks coach replaces Terry Crews, performing the track right in front of the trophy.

While the clip is undeniably artificial, the light musical performance does not seem entirely impossible for Erasmus. The Springboks team coach often displays his playful side on social media; previously, he shared videos dancing to local hits, such as 'Sister Bethina.' Furthermore, Erasmus was part of the Springboks squad at the 1999 Rugby World Cup, where they filmed a memorable parody of the famous opening scene from the movie 'Chariots of Fire.'

This viral clip emerged against the backdrop of the Springboks team attempting to recover after their 42–38 loss to Australia in Perth over the weekend. A significant portion of the post-match discussion focused on the 13 lineup changes made by Erasmus before this confrontation, which ultimately led to the world champions' defeat by the resilient Wallabies team.

Prior to the Perth setback, the Boks had achieved success by winning the test series 3–1 against the All Blacks. This historic series included three matches in South Africa and a final match in Baltimore, USA.
