Review of the best-selling electric motorcycles in India with a claimed range of 180 km

In the Indian market, when it comes to electric two-wheelers, the focus is usually on scooters, which dominate company portfolios. However, some manufacturers also offer electric motorcycles, although their range is quite limited.

If a consumer wishes to purchase an electric motorcycle, the choice of options will be small. Among these options, the brand Oben Electric has established itself as the best-seller. In September, Oben Electric sold 1417 motorcycles, marking the highest monthly sales figure for this firm.

The electric two-wheeler startup based in Bangalore explains the sales growth due to the Oben Rorr Evo model. This new product from the company has a claimed range of 180 kilometers. Furthermore, last month, the company achieved an important production milestone by releasing 10 thousand units at its factory.

After Oben Electric, Revolt Intellicorp is in second place, having sold 1027 units. Ultraviolette, specializing in high-performance electric motorcycles, ranks third with sales of 536 units. Additionally, Matter Motor Works sold 69 motorcycles, and Rapti Energy sold 17.

The combined sales of these five companies reached 3066 units, with Oben Electric accounting for 46.2 percent and Revolt for 38 percent. Regarding the overall electric two-wheeler segment, Oben Electric ranks 11th. The leader in this segment is TVS Motor, which sold 53,990 electric scooters in September.

As for the latest Oben Electric model, the Rorr Evo, it is equipped with a 3.4 kWh battery, providing the claimed range of 180 kilometers. This motorcycle is capable of reaching speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour. According to the company, it accelerates from 0 to 40 kilometers per hour in 3 seconds. The charging time to 80 percent is 90 minutes. The cost of charging the 3.4 kWh battery is estimated at approximately 35 rupees (at a price of 8 rupees per unit).
