According to Dunyo news agency, an Uzbek-Afghan business forum and B2B meetings were held in the cities of Mazar-i-Sharif and Sheberghan. Representatives of the business community from the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan participated in them.
The delegation from Khorezm was headed by Alisher Dushannov, deputy governor of the region. Participants included entrepreneurs working in sectors such as agriculture, textile and food industry, construction material production, and carpet manufacturing.
Discussion of Bilateral Trade Opportunities
During the negotiations, the parties discussed the potential for increasing bilateral trade and implementing joint projects. Special attention was paid to areas such as agriculture, poultry farming, textile and food industries, as well as the production of building materials.
The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Balkh and Jawzjan provinces expressed readiness to deepen economic ties with Uzbek partners and increase trade volumes.
As part of the business meetings, enterprises from both countries signed a number of agreements. These documents cover cooperation in the fields of agriculture, textile industry, grain and flour production, food products, and construction materials.
An exhibition of products from producers in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan was also held within the framework of the events.
Following the meetings, the parties agreed to organize a business mission of entrepreneurs from the provinces of Balkh and Jawzjan to the Khorezm region in November. The parties plan to continue negotiations and coordinate specific investment projects.
