According to information published on the Ministry of Health's website, the week-long event will run under the slogan 'Don't forget two times two: brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day.' Since the campaign is primarily aimed at students, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, will conduct oral hygiene educational sessions in schools to raise awareness among children and their families about oral health status.

Through student health ambassadors and medical staff in schools, students will be taught about proper nutrition and how to correctly brush and use dental floss. The Ministry of Health also plans to utilize the resources of dental clinics, mass media, and social networks to conduct educational and preventive programs aimed at promoting self-care and increasing public literacy regarding oral health.

As reported by Zahra Korbani, an employee of the Ministry of Health, last year the program covered approximately 34,000 schools, providing services to over three million students nationwide.

World Oral Health Day (WOHD) is observed annually on March 20 to provide people with knowledge and tools to prevent and control oral diseases that affect nearly 3.5 billion people worldwide. This day encourages people to take care of their oral health by adopting good hygiene routines and managing risk factors.

The theme for WOHD 2026 was 'Happy Mouth – Happy Life,' emphasizing the role of oral health as a foundation for lifelong well-being—from a baby's first teeth to maintaining a healthy smile in old age.
